A search of the Social Security Death Index on the Internet at Ancestry.com reveals that a Wilburn Hooten, born 20 May 1938, died on 15 May 1997. The last residence was given as Heber Springs, Cleburne County, Arkansas. The Social Security card was issued in Tennessee in 1956.

The Class of '57 address list as of August 1, 1987 does not record an address for Wilburn. An Obituary for him has not been found yet. A search of the Commercial Appeal database for the year 1997 proved fruitless.

16 May 2001 - Wilburn's father, William D. Hooten was located in Heber Springs, AR and did confirm that Wilburn passed away in 1997.
